Shanghai Technology Innovation Center (STIC), a non-profit public Institution under the direct leadership of S&T Commission of Shanghai Municipality, was established in April, 1988. STIC incubation base, as a technology achievement incubation base, is invested by Shanghai Government, and directed by STIC with the authorization from Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. The incubation base is approved by Ministry of Science & Technology of P.R.C. as a State-level New &High Technology Innovation Service Center and one of the bases of Shanghai International Business Incubator.

STIC devotes to the tenet of “Transfer technology achievements, incubate technology enterprises, and cultivate technology entrepreneurs”, and strives to build an excellent innovation environment to provide comprehensive services to technology enterprises and innovators for the commercialization, industrialization and internationalization of hi-tech technology achievements.

As the parent organization of Shanghai Technology Business Incubation Association, STIC takes extensive advantages of social resources and policies. A dozen of technology business incubators, including “Yangpu” and “IC Design” incubator, were invested and established directly by STIC, which form an incubation service system covering entire Shanghai, and improve Shanghai technology business incubators’ specialization, standardization, and internationalization.

Headed by STIC, Shanghai International Business Incubator (IBI) takes the organization model of “One Incubator, Several Bases”. The Incubator has 6 incubation bases with international business incubation qualifications, including STIC, Caohejing, Zhangjiang, Yangpu, Withub, and Shanghai University S&T Park. IBI devotes to extensive communication and cooperation with well-known international incubators, and has established close cooperative relationship with incubators and counterparts in foreign countries such as France, Japan, Russian, USA, Korea, UK, etc.
Facing directly to incubation market, coordinating domestic and overseas incubator network, consolidating social resources and providing services to small & medium-sized hi-tech start-up enterprises, STIC is an idea venue for technology innovation.
